Chicken & Dumplins

Twice a year these meals are at the heart of many of the missions that are supported through Walkersville EPC in Union County and around the world.  The money that is raised goes towards our various mission partners.

HELP Pregnancy Center (January)

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart."

(Jeremiah 1:5)

-The center provides limited ultrasounds at both the Center and in their Mobile Ultrasound Unit.

-If a woman wants to be seen to find out if they're pregnant or not, planned or unplanned, help is available.  The center also provides parenting, pregnancy, lactation, and Bible study classes.

Ground 40 (February)

Ground 40 exists to provide practical and spiritual guidance to those transitioning back into the community.

-Founded on Psalms 40, we believe God is able and ready to help us in times of trouble, we only need to call upon His name.

House of Pearls (March)

-To provide a safe environment for women to heal, restore, & rebuild their lives, embracing & representing the love of Jesus Christ.

Project 2 Heal (April)

-Charlie and Sandy Petrizzo use their awareness of the healing power of animals to serve others.  Their mission is to reduce the cost and time it takes to place a service dog with a person in need.  They, along with their staff, accomplish this by nurturing, socializing and training purposely bred Labrador Retriever puppies, for donation, to carefully selected service dog organizations.

-Walkersville EPC has been contributing to this ministry through an annual Fall yard sale held in the church's Fellowship Hall.

Prospect Food and Clothing Ministry (May)

-Donate food that is delivered to the church where the ministry is located.

The Shepherd's Place, Children's Home & Academy (June)

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27)

-The Shepherd’s Place Children’s Home and Academy is available for school-age children who are in need of care.

-A loving environment is provided in which the children can stay and get a quality education to help equip them for a bright future.

-The Shepherd’s Place theme is “There’s a Better Way.”

Samaritans International of Waxhaw (September)

Pochocuape Christian School

-"Running an Embassy of Heaven on a mountain top in southern Managua, Nicaragua.  Sharing the Love of Jesus one person at a time."

-Educating children from preschool age through high school graduation.

-The children of Pochocuape have a tuition-free Christian private education.

-Teaching the Truth of Jesus, capturing their hearts from a young age and never letting go.

-We believe that education is a ladder out of poverty.

Operation Christmas Child (October)

-As we join Samaritan's Purse for Operation Christmas Child, the amazing journey of a shoebox gift begins and then results in evangelism, discipleship, and multiplication.

Operation Reachout of Monroe, NC (November)

-This ministry is focused on honoring God by meeting people where they are in life's circumstances.

-Members of the church provide lunch on the second Wednesday of the month.  This includes preparing the food along with serving and interacting with the people being served.

-A ministry of care for our community.

In addition to these missions, Christ works through the people of the Walkersville EPC to participate in other local ministries:
